Cost: ~$13 + drinks
Meal: Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich and Fries
Pros: Great atmosphere. Good Fast Food. Budget-Friendly
Cons: Portions could be bigger.
Food: Excellent
Service: Decent - I visited during the lunch rush and the service could have been quicker, but it was understandable.
Décor: Once again, not an ambiance place, but it is situated on the boardwalk, which is always a pleasant place to hang out.
Overall: The curry chicken salad sandwich was great. The curry was not overpowering. The fries were fresh. The drinks were strong. For $13, I expected the meal to be larger, but I left feeling, somewhat, hungry.
Bottom Line: I recommend the “Brew Pub”. I haven’t actually had the beer there, but I heard it is pretty good. I did have the Cruzan Rum though, it was excellent. You should try it!

Cost: ~$10
Meal: Shrimp + 2 Sides (Rice and Stuffing)
Pros: Good Fast Food. Budget-Friendly
Cons: Not enough meat!
Food: Poor
Service: It’s a take out bar, so they process the orders as fast as they can. No complaints here.
Décor: Definitely not a place you come to for the ambiance. It’s all about the food!
Overall: I did not get enough shrimp at all. Nonetheless, the shrimp was bland and so was the shrimp gravy. Oh, the sides were dry too. Not the best meal that I have had here.
Bottom Line: I recommend Johnny Mango’s for a quick, economical bite. I think I caught them on a bad day. Although the shrimp was subpar, I have had several good meals here. Try to stick to the BBQ.

Cost: ~$11
Meal: Chickenburger with French Fries
Pros: Good Fast Food. Budget-Friendly. Nice Sunsets. Good Service. Free Peanuts. Cheap Drinks.
Cons: Mampi and Mosquitos. Weak Drinks
Food: Great!
Service: A little slow, but I can’t say that wasn’t expected…
Décor: Beach chairs on a deck, but the Frederiksted sunset more than contemplates for the Kmart furniture.
Overall: The chickenburger and fries were great. Drinks were cheap, but not very strong. The biggest concern of the night was the mampi and mosquitoes! Good thing they keep a can of Off! At the bar. It came in very handy. Once I was no longer concerned about bugs, I enjoyed my meal, my company, and the sunset immensely.
Bottom Line: I highly recommend Coconuts for budget-friendly, casual fare.

This chinese rest is located in golden rock across from pueblo on the same side of the road as the car dealership. parking was limited on a fri nite ~7:30 but we found a spot.
the rest has a really nice atmosphere cause its relatively new…its porbably the nicest dining atmosphere for a chinese rest i been in on stx…
we ordered a general tso tofu & a veggie lo mein. all dishes come w/ white or fried rice which i wanted to switch w/ brown rice but dey had none
. so i went w/ the white rice…
tofu was excellent, lo mein was really good to cause they use the thin lo mein noodles that’r not really doughy. veggies on the lo mein were kinda sparse though, specially since they said they’d put xtra veggies on
. these 2 plates were enough for 2 people
all in all dinner w/ 2 drinks came out to be 30.00 w/ tip so that was great!!
i’ll definitely be back again 4sho & i recommend this to any1 who is looking for a nice nite out for relatively less $$$!!
oh & service & prep time was good too, no complaints

Cost: $10
Meal: Roast Pork with stuffing, seasoned rice, and beans
Pros: Good (local) Food. Budget-Friendly. Nice atmosphere, Large Portions
Cons: Cold Food, Slow and inattentive service
Food: Okay, once, re-heated
Service: Slow. It appears that there was one server covering the entire restaurant.
Décor: Decent atmosphere, but not exactly fine dining.
Overall: The food was brought out and everything was hot except for the roast pork. Once this was brought to our server’s attention, our food was miraculously hot in 5 minutes (thank goodness for the microwave!). Otherwise, the meat was tender, stuffing was great, and the rice and beans were flavorful.
Bottom Line: Villa Morales was average. Definitely not one of their better days. The food and service was average. Don’t worry, I’ll probably be giving them another chance in the near future. After all, they are a Crucian institution.

after a long afternoon at the beach down west last sunday i needed some food & UCA was the spot to get it…
i ordered a maubi (local drink made w/, well i guess maubi!) for $3.00 & a veggie samosa for $3.00…
while ordering i was considering getting 2 samosas cause i was hungry, but decided to just stay w/ 1…& i was truely surprised how big it was when i unwrapped it. very tasty & filling! great buy anyday
the maubi was pretty good, a bit watery cause they put alot of ice, but well made nonetheless.
so for $3.00 each the samosa was a steal but the maubi was average…
i’ll definitely be back for more ital & they also sell other drinks (~$3.00) & large plates of food in the $5-10 range which i’ve had b4 & if u like real veggie food this is the place to get it…1!

Another good post. Unedited. As posted by vibusinessman in the forums.

I went to Blue Moon rest. On a wed nite 4 dinner cause they had a jazz treo playing (wed & fri. nites). I had a pasta w/ sautéed veggies. Veggie selection on the pasta was pretty good (peppers, onion, zucchini, broccoli & portabella mushrooms) & the bread was served in a small flower pot which was new for me…it was the same shape as the pot so I guess they baked it in something that size.
Atmosphere was nice w/ the music playing in the background.
Only surprise was the dish came out to be 22.50!…for a plate of pasta & veggies…I wonder what surf & turf woulda cost! The only reason I could think it was that much was cause it wasn’t on the menu, it was requested cause the vegetarian selection was limited to salads.
Overall I’ll definitely go back cause the atmosphere, food & service was good & it was nice being in Frederiksted near the waterfront. When I go back I’ll probably try something else on the menu for variety. If I’m lookin 4 a great plate of veggie pasta @ a reasonable price I might consider other locations though.

Cost: $10
Meal: Roast Pork with everything (stuffing, macaroni, coleslaw, rice)
Pros: Fast Service. Good (local) Food. Budget-Friendly
Cons: Relatively small portions compared to other local restaurants.
Food: Excellent
Service:Good
Décor: Poor (If you plan on going out for food and want to impress, you are in the wrong place. This place is all about the food!)
Overall: Excellent
Once again, Brady’s (a personal favorite) delivered on a well-tasting, flavorful meal. The pork was tender and seasoned just right. All the trimmings did not overpower the taste of the meat. The gravy was great.
Brady’s is one of the best local restaurants on island. (Don’t worry. This is not a paid advertisement. Just one man’s humble opinion!)
